Picnics and Barbecues

Western Australia is teeming with postcard-perfect picnic grounds, so pack a gourmet hamper and hit the open road!

Picnicking on the river's edge, a game of frisbee at the park and feasting on a good old Aussie barbecue are popular pastimes in this sunny State.

You'll find electric or gas barbecues in many of Perth's parks and reserves and they don't cost a cent.

They're available on a first come, first serve basis, but there are so many you're bound to find one in a good spot.

The Swan River Foreshore and Kings Park are popular among picnickers.

Choose from secluded bush settings, grassed areas with sweeping views or beside adventure play equipment for the kids.

The South Perth foreshore is the perfect spot to spend a sunny afternoon.
