Waterskiing and Wakeboarding

In Western Australia, waterski and wakeboard enthusiasts will be truly spoilt for choice.

Waterskiing at Cable Beach, BroomeThere's over 12,000 kilometres of idyllic, uncommercial coastline and an abundance of pristine rivers on offer - so grab your boards, gather your mates and head on down.

The State is peppered with certified waterski areas, from Bunbury, Busselton and Broome to Esperance, Geraldton, Harvey and Mandurah.

The waterways are so uncrowded, you can often glide along in the fresh air for hours without seeing another soul!

Albany is an ideal place for waterskiing and wakeboarding. Popular spots include the Kalgan River and Oyster Harbour.

Swan River, GuildfordThe calm waters of the Blackwood River and Hardy Inlet in picturesque Augusta make it another great town to strap on the skis or jump on a wakeboard.

Head north to Broome for an abundance of waterways.

Gantheaume Bay, Roebuck Bay and all waters east of Dampier Creek are designated ski areas.
Closer to Perth, spend a leisurely weekend water-skiing or wakeboarding on the Canning River in Mt Pleasant.

Woodman's Point, only ten minutes south of Fremantle, is a popular ski spot too.

Just 90 minutes from Perth, Waroona Dam is where locals in the know go to ski and camp. The reservoir, also known as Lake Navarino is also stocked with marron, trout and perch making is popular for fishing.

Novice skiers and wakeboarders will be happy to hear that Western Australia is also home to a number of man-made ski parks.

Boating on the Swan River, PerthHere, you can choose your pace and enjoy the security of a purpose-built lake.

At Bonneys WA Waterski Park in Baldivis, enjoy expert skiing tuition or a round of wakeboarding, knee-boarding and tubing.

There are five glistening man-made lakes fitted with a jump and world-class slalom facilities.

There's even accommodation at the park if you want to have an extended waterskiing holiday here.
